I couldn’t be more pleased with this brand. It’s best if you wash it out after using and don’t let Coffey sit in it for hours and hours and hours after due date if you ever do need, you can do a diluted water and vinegar rinse and wash. I recommend not using anything at brief of inside of it. It’s a very, very good pot and it’s far better than the other designer brands available That are maybe well known very good filtering system as well better than the most well-known brand in the business love this love the company. Easy to clean, easy to use and makes great coffee. My formula for this French press is: 4 cups of boiling water and 8 LEVEL tablespoons of coffee. I pour a little amount of boiling water into the coffee maker and let it sit for about 1 minute. Then pour in the rest of the water. Put the lid on but don’t push the plunger yet. Let it sit for 4 minutes and then SLOWLY push the plunger down until it can’t go any further. Thought I would include my formula for this one because initially, I didn’t know the ratio of water to coffee for me. I am used to a smaller coffee press. But, everyone should work out what works for them. I like a little stronger coffee.so you may want to use less of the coffee grounds. I am thoroughly enjoying this French press and the coffee it makes. This press keeps coffee warm a little longer than a glass one.

Customer Review: This is my 1st French Press and I’ve been using it for about 3 months now. I really like it and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a plastic-free, quality French Press. The coffee is remarkably smooth and delicious, and I really like the fact that I’m no longer brewing my coffee through plastic. The Cafe Du Chateau French Press is very well made and seems sturdy enough to last a long time, with a thick glass carafe, good quality stainless steel, and no sharp edges, as mentioned in other reviews (I guess they fixed that problem, which shows that the manufacturer is paying attention). Taking it apart for cleaning is easy peasy, with the exception of unscrewing the cross plate from the stem. That can be a little stubborn to loosen at times. Otherwise it’s very easy to break down and clean. To easily remove the used grounds from the carafe without worrying about clogging my drain or making a mess, I use the mesh filter basket from my retired 5-cup Mr. Coffee, with a paper filter inside of that. I add a little water to the used grounds, swirl it around a little, and pour the sludge into the filter basket. I let it drain for a while and then remove the paper filter full of grounds from the basket and drop it into the garbage. Again, easy peasy.

I got this one yesterday to replace that one as it broke. This is very nice looking. Feels quality. I had my first cup of coffee and it was as expected…hot and delicious. I had my second cup an hour later and steam rose as I poured. The coffee was still a great temperature! This was not the case with my previous insulated french press. I am so thankful I got this one. I know. It’s only my first use, but there’s not much that can happen with a french press. If it does, I’ll amend this review.

It did a great job of that, easily making about a liter of coffee at a time – enough for me and my husband to both have about 2 big mugs, while keeping the coffee hot. But where I’ve really come to appreciate it is over the last few months, when I started using it daily at home almost every day. It works so well and is so easy! I use an electric kettle to boil water while I rinse out the metal filter from yesterday’s coffee grounds — takes very little time to clean and I can rinse the old grounds directly into my garbage disposal. No need to buy new filters or expensive pods. It only takes another minute or two to pour in the boiling water over fresh grounds, stir, then press. The coffee stays hot on our kitchen counter for hours, so I can make coffee when I get up and it’s still available when my husband gets up a bit later. I’ve probably owned every type of coffee maker over the years and this is simple and makes very good coffee — and holds up to daily use, too!
